AIR CONDITIONING ENERGY SAVING TIPS

  • Ever wondered why MASS SAVE offers so many excellent rebates to replace that old, inefficient air conditioning system – because it’s more than likely an energy hog! There is now over $3,300 available in rebates for 2016 and that doesn’t include manufacturers incentives – it takes a little paperwork but the money is there for upgrading to these energy efficient products.
  • If your HVAC system is more than 10 years old or you just don’t feel comfortable, chances are it is not energy efficient. Consider the huge selection of ENERGY STAR heating and cooling systems now available.
  • HVAC equipment must be properly installed. In fact, even if you don’t choose Morris Heating & Air Conditioning, please choose a reliable contractor – improper installation of HVAC systems can reduce energy efficiency by up to 30 percent, which will directly impact your utility bill.
  • Proper sizing – You wouldn’t choose a window unit to cool an entire house. Same principle here. Improper sizing of heating and cooling equipment can shorten the equipment’s life. We’ve been in this business a long time and won’t sell you a Hummer if you really need a Mini Cooper… you get the idea.

  • SEER Rating – refers to the amount of energy needed to provide a specific cooling output (Most of the products we sell have a SEER Rating of 16 or above and every product we offer meets the minimum government rating SEER Rating of 13).
  • EER – Energy Efficiency Ratio – a measure of how efficiently an air conditioning system will operate when temperatures reach a specific level.
  • ENERGY STAR – This means the product meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set forth by the US Government and first established by the EPA in 1992.
  • So what about SEER, EER, Energy Star and High Efficient Systems? Energy efficiency in the HVAC industry has never been better as technologies have advanced along with customer demand for lower cost, cleaner, more efficient heating and cooling solutions for their homes. At Morris Heating & Air Conditioning we are proud to part of this effort to conserve energy.

"Great installation and service from Morris. I had 2 systems put in. The Lennox system is quiet, works great, cools my house like nothing else ever did. And best of all my energy cost for cooling is almost half of what is was."

Michael S., Peabody, MA

"It is so quiet - I can now sleep again and be cool - the window units we had were so noisy. Morris Htg and Air Conditioning was very professional and cleaned the area like they were never there."

Wendy M., Danvers, MA
